Pez

Pez candy has been an American delicacy for 78 years. In 1927, Pez was invented by an Austrian inventor and an anti-smoking advocate who initially manufactured peppermint flavored Pez to be sold as a cigarette substitute. The word Pez comes from the German word for peppermint or Pfefferminze. The inventor, Eduard Hass, decided to reintroduce the candy years later with a new packaging that doubled as a childs toy (now know as the Pez Dispenser). Pez Dispensers now have cartoon heads and are filled with new and improved fruit flavors.
